Internship Groendijkdesign
Between the Bachelor and the Master, I went on a half-year partime internship to learn using a 3D-modeling program, so I could present my designs at a level beyond a sketch. At Groendijkdesign I learned the principles of the program 'Rhinoceros' , of which some results are visible on this page. During this period, I also learned how to do acquisition, and thinking in form language and 'product families'.
Despite the amount of respect I had for my colleagues and their creativity to be able to turn a box of a machine into something that looks like a streamlined train, the work at a design agency is not what I would eventually desire. Although my heart beats for nice design, my heart beats faster for innovation and the purpose of the design. The search for solutions, being busy with the challenges of usability will have more my passion than spending the whole day behind the computer, developing a design shape. All in all, this experience has also helped me to learn skills and get a clearer picture of my strengths and weaknesses and passion.
Below we see the development and a rendering of a bathroom closet, which I developped for another extracurricular activity, a Circular Design Challenge, see the page 'Fingertip'. The pictures at the bottom of the page show renderings applying certain textures and using a virtual lightstudio to improve the renderings.
